Dr. Harishkumar Narayana
Dr. Harishkumar Narayana is a materials scientist with deep expertise in bio-polymers, advanced textiles, and wearable technologies. Currently serving as Lead Engineer at Texavie Technologies, he specializes in the development of softgoods and smart wearable systems. His work bridges scientific innovation and real-world product development, particularly in the areas of biocompatible materials, nanotechnology, and functional textiles.
Previously, Dr. Harishkumar held a research appointment at the University of British Columbia (2018–2021), where he advanced technologies in biosensors, energy-harvesting fabrics, and textile-integrated electronics. His leadership has driven the full-cycle development and commercialization of two groundbreaking wearable products that use AI-powered textile electronics to capture motion without visual input—setting a new standard in accuracy for applications in healthcare, rehabilitation, animation, and interactive media.
His portfolio includes managing multimillion-dollar R&D initiatives funded by organizations such as the Canadian Department of National Defence, the Canadian Space Agency, and NATO. These projects focused on wearable energy systems, including solar and kinetic harvesting technologies designed for extreme environments.
Dr. Harishkumar earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2018 and is a recipient of multiple international awards, patents, and peer-reviewed publications. His interdisciplinary approach and commitment to innovation continue to shape the future of functional materials and smart product ecosystems.
